What is the solution? there are two argument here vouching for piracy which provides a stake in legitimizing their actions . First of, the illegal dumping of large toxic waste in the Somali shores and secondly, the over fishing of sea by large fishing vessel belonging varies nations.
Although, many Somali's are aware that piracy is wrong but you have to admitted that overwhelming majority of the population support them privately in Somali Diaspora due to above reasons. Well the world see it differently, perhaps looking back at the incident of the capture captain by the pirates and its outcome. Some views this as a big PR stunt to try to overshadow the lasting problem to come in the future. This intensifies the whole ordeal to be bloody one in the future and under the circumstance of hostage situations.
Obama might gain a favorable margins but the issues takes slap on the face when pirates again capture four ships within next two days that followed. Somali American voters are paying attention to this keenly. majority of them are somewhat at doubts with Obama's predictable route to appeal to the moment rather than find a long term solutions.
If the world forgot Somalia it makes hard to be ignored by other nations. I have much respect for the Congressman that went to Somalia and his keen insight to the situation. That a safe Somalia is safe Africa, that most the African problems could be overcomed if we achieve a viable solution for the Horn.
