A week ago a friend informed me of certain guess speaker would be in town. I tend to hunger healthily discussions whenever the opportunity presents itself. Rarely, no lecture so far challenge my core reasoning and the stitches that hold together the core beliefs that I embraced impassively. To summon the small talk the lecture shattered the clatter or splinters ideas in my head. The speaker Abdi Samatar is a man many with friend and opponent in the sphere of ideas. Professor Abdi, shared with us the in his view the most prevalent conclusions as simply put to answer as to why Somalia failed as state. As he informed the audience there is paper on the way to settle the raw perspective as way to countering these questions.
What all of these questions address are the attributes of inadequacy of the Somalis. By now your mind is tormenting you with millions of answers. The professor broke the niche of inadequacy into four questions.
1. What change the country to go bad? Is it tribalism(qabiil) or we left culture
2. Perhaps, nomads (faradheer) constantly on the move and all about killing! Chaotic element in power. Or reer badiyo assume
3. Moreover, we have left the religion because of secularism.
4. Lastly, lack of accountability in government and abuse of power.
I’m sure some of your t list would be longer. Hopefully, ideas are imperative to rescuing ourselves from insanity. Let your minds seethe quietly.
